Single-phase pad-mounted transformers are commonly used in residential areas to supply power to homes and small commercial buildings. They are designed to step down medium voltage to low voltage (e.g., 12kV to 120/240V) and are installed in a pad-mounted configuration for direct user power supply. These units are typically mounted on concrete pads and enclosed in tamper-resistant steel housings, making them suitable for public spaces. Single-phase units are compact, cost-effective, and easy to install, making them particularly ideal for space-constrained locations.

Structure and Design Features
Compact and Low-Profile: Small footprint, ideal for urban landscapes and confined commercial spaces.
Weather-Resistant Enclosure: Designed with durable materials and protective coatings to withstand rain, snow, high temperatures, and other environmental stresses, ensuring reliable operation under various climate conditions.
Safety: Lockable doors and concealed fasteners allow safe installation in residential areas and public spaces.
Easy Installation: The transformer is equipped with clearly marked high-voltage and low-voltage bushings that are easily accessible from the front, simplifying wiring and maintenance.
Primary Connection: High-voltage primary bushings are configured for seamless integration with overhead or underground utility feeders.
Secondary Connection: Low-voltage secondary terminals can be connected to commercial or residential distribution panels.
Manufactured to standard pad dimensions to ensure compatibility with existing infrastructure, facilitating easy replacement or new installation.
Dead Front Wiring: No exposed live parts on the high-voltage side. High-voltage leads are connected via fully insulated elbow connectors inserted into the front wall of the transformer. The surface of the connectors is absolutely safe to touch during operation (i.e., "dead front").
Highly Integrated Design:It is more than just a transformer body. The single-phase pad-mounted transformer integrates the HV load-break switch, dual-fuse protection, tap changer, and instrument transformers—all submersed in oil within the same sealed tank—in an extremely compact footprint, significantly reducing the required installation area.
ONAN Self-Cooling & Fully Sealed Design:Adopts the ONAN (Oil Natural Air Natural) cooling method, relying on natural oil circulation and air cooling. The enclosure is designed without an external oil conservator; instead, it accommodates oil expansion and contraction through a constant air cushion at the top of the tank or via mini-corrugated fins. This design completely isolates the insulating oil from the external atmosphere, achieving a "maintenance-free" or "low-maintenance" operation.
Insulating Oil
High-quality mineral insulating oil compliant with international standards.
Environmentally friendly insulating liquids such as natural ester (vegetable oil) or silicone oil are available as options.
Performance Advantages
Typical Applications
Residential Developments: Powering entire residential communities and townhouse complexes.
Commercial Centers: Supplying power to shopping malls, hospitals, and office buildings.
Renewable Energy: Used as step-up or step-down transformers in solar power plants and wind power installations.
Industrial Facilities: Providing stable power to manufacturing plants and large warehouses.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: How do I choose the right capacity?
A: 10–100 kVA: Ideal for single-family homes, small commercial outlets, and lighting systems.
50–100 kVA: Suitable for multi-unit residential buildings, small shopping centers, and office parks.
100–167 kVA: Designed for large commercial projects, industrial sites, and utility service points.
Q: What maintenance is required for pad-mounted transformers?
A: These transformers require minimal maintenance, primarily involving periodic inspections for oil leaks, corrosion, and ensuring the enclosure remains secure and free of debris.
Q: What information is needed to obtain a quotation?
A: To receive a prompt and accurate quotation, please provide the following core parameters:
Rated Capacity (kVA)
Primary and Secondary Voltage Levels
Rated Frequency (50Hz or 60Hz)
Phase (Single-Phase or Three-Phase)
Winding Material: Both copper and aluminum windings are supported, each with distinct advantages in cost and performance.
Connection Group Label
Other Requirements: Such as applicable standards, special protection ratings, instrumentation accessories, etc.
Configuration Type: Radial Feed or Loop Feed.
Enclosure Material Selection:
Installation Altitude & Temperature: If installed at altitudes exceeding 1,000 meters, or in environments where the temperature is consistently above 40°C or below -25°C, this must be declared in advance. The manufacturer will need to apply altitude corrections for external insulation or select special low-temperature sealing components.
